Winchester Rescue Mission Monthly Meal
On the fourth Saturday of each month from 4pm-6:30pm, volunteers prepare and serve a meal to homeless residents at the Winchester Rescue Mission. Everyone is invited to participate (children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult). A sign-up sheet is in the Fellowship Hall. Highland Food Bags
Once a month, bags filled with nonperishable food items are picked up from the Highland Food Pantry in Winchester and delivered to food insecure individuals in Clarke County. Crums is currently serving seven individuals. If you know someone who is food insecure and would benefit from having food delivered, or if you would like more information about this outreach, contact Ann Turner at (540) 664-9569.

Food 4 Kids Backpack Program
Crums Church partners with Head Start to provide meals for approximately 14 children in Clarke County. Items that are needed include oatmeal packets, small cereal boxes, granola bars, cereal bars, cheese/peanut butter crackers, cup of soup, Vienna sausages, mac n’ cheese, ravioli, tuna, applesauce, pudding, fruit cups, fruit snacks, rice crispy treats, 8 oz. cartons shelf stable milk, and juice. Items can be dropped off at church between 12-3pm Tuesday-Friday or on Sunday. For more information, contact Cathy Brown at (540) 533-0195.

Jail Ministry
This is an opportunity to bring the message of hope and the unconditional love of God to inmates at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Volunteers meet at the jail on a weekly basis to minister to the men (Thursdays) and women (Tuesdays) from 7:30-8:30pm. Project Belong Care Community
Project Belong VA helps churches become places where caring for vulnerable children is part of the church culture. We are currently supporting a greatgrandmother, living in Berryville, who is taking care of three greatgrandchildren. Winchester Area Temporary Transitional Shelter (WATTS)
each year in January, Crums church along with other Berryville churches shelters and feeds the homeless in the community. Crums provides shelter support and dinner for one evening during the week as well as breakfast and lunch the following morning. For more information, contact Ann Turner at (540) 664-9569.

Community Meal
In January and in June of each year, volunteers partner with Marvin Chapel to prepare a meal and bring it to Duncan UMC for the Community Meal event. Everyone is welcome to participate in this time of supper and fellowship. The Community Meal is a cooperative effort among local churches. The hope is to establish a place where you can come for an hour, share a meal and be in Christian fellowship. For more information, contact Cathy Brown at (540) 533-0195.

March Food Distribution
March is our turn to help FISH of Clarke County with distributing food to those in need. Volunteers meet at Duncan UMC on the second Thursday of the month to sort the food and on the next day (Friday) volunteers return to help hand out the food. Individuals who are on food assistance will arrive on Friday to pick up their box. For more information, call the church office at (540) 955-1852.

Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley
This organization works with homeless families in our community who live in motels or are sleeping in their cars. Volunteers create care kits that are then distributed to these families. Approximately 23 families (including adults and children) are supported by this organization. The children range from infant to 17 years. Impact the Valley
A mission of Teens Opposing Poverty, Impact the Valley serves the City of Winchester and Frederick, Clarke, and Warren Counties. Volunteers spend four days repairing the homes of low-income families and gather for worship in the evening. Youth are encouraged to participate in this local mission.

National Missions
Dress A Girl Around the World
Over 200 dresses have been made and sent around the world by volunteers. Many have learned to sew through this ministry. For more information, contact Mary Ellen Phillips at (703) 409-2060.
Kairos Prison Ministry
Men and women bring the message of hope and unconditional love of God to inmates at maximum security prisons in Maryland (men) and Virginia (women). For more information, contact Susan Browning at (540) 336-0486 or Chas Browning at (703) 727-4992.
Appalachia Service Project (ASP)
ASP brings thousands of volunteers from around the country to Central Appalachia to repair and replace homes for low-income families. Mission teams from Crums have served through ASP on several occasions.
International Missions
Adopt a Missionary
Crums Church has adopted Zac and Mira Good who are spreading the Gospel in Miskolc, Hungary. The church is financially supporting their mission and is looking to take a team to Hungary to help spread the Gospel. We also support Marcelo and Holly Vieira in Bairro Das Flores, Brazil as they share the gospel and care for their church.
Botswana, Africa
Crums Church has partnered with Stepping Stones International (SSI) in the village of Mochudi, Botswana. SSI works with vulnerable and at-risk children as well as the grandmothers who take care of them. Volunteers have traveled to Mochudi and have built a building that is used as a bakery where individuals can work to make an income; they have repaired and expanded two houses that SSI identified as in need of repair; as well as created a sewing room for grannies to make clothing for the children and items to sell for an income. Tijuana, Mexico
Crums Church has partnered with Amor Ministries in Tijuana, Mexico to build homes alongside families in need. Operation Christmas Child
Shoe boxes are distributed to the congregation during the Christmas season to participate in Samaritan Purses’ Operation Christmas Child. Volunteers can select a girl or boy as well as the age and then purchase Christmas gifts that fit in the shoe box. The boxes are then collected and mailed to Samaritan Purse for distribution around the world.
